Staff and Services
Village House is the transitional step between hospital and home for hundreds of Rhode Islanders each year. Our hospital-trained staff is experienced in treating patients suffering from acute or chronic illness, neurological disorders, orthopedic problems or terminal illness. Our sub acute care unit provides the advanced medical services necessary to obtain maximum recovery following an accident, illness or surgery. Our Medical Director works alongside physicians, nurses, therapists, social workers, dietitians, activities personnel, restorative aides and family members to direct a program geared toward timely recuperation and rehabilitation.
No matter what your needs may be, Village House defines individualized health care. As a Village House resident, your treatment, lifestyle, meals and activities will be uniquely your own. Care plans are based upon the needs of each individual, with input from our professional staff and family members. In fact, we understand the anxiety families often feel when transitioning a loved one to a skilled nursing setting, so we do everything possible to seek their participation in enhancing their loved one’s quality of life. We also understand that all facets of life affect optimal health so our multi-disciplinary care teams tailor a plan to facilitate maximum health for each individual resident.
Families who place a loved one with Alzheimer’s Disease or related dementia can rest easier know that our Wanderguard Security System helps keeps residents safe. Additionally, our staff designs activities specifically for the special needs of residents suffering from dementia or other cognitive impairment.
